Whoo Whoo Wants Cake?

Today, I received an email from Kate with the link to this pastel owl shaped cake, which inspired her to create this combination of an owl and heart shaped cake for her daughter. I think looks perfect! Kate, you did a great job and thanks for sharing your inspiration!

Kooky Birds

I'm digging this print by Sarah of Petit Reve, with minimal use of gray and orange. She an illustrator who loves to doodle birds and is currently working as an e-card designer with a greeting card company. She is also a music artist, who plays bass and a lead singer in a band called Softee. Wow, a woman of many talents!

{Vintage Wedding}

I stumbled across Zola and Derik's vintage themed wedding, and was blown away by the stunning photographs by Noa of Feather Love. Everything was well thought of, from table napkins to the dresses, from bouquets to shoes. The bride and the groom looked adorable and straight from the 60s.

I know I am cheating a little; it's not an owl themed wedding, but I found out that the bride collects Mexican owls and used owls (shown above) from her collection for the wedding. Her advice for anyone planning a wedding - "Use what you have. I collect vintage Mexican owls and have amassed quite a collection of succulents in the last twelve years. For that reason, using owls and succulents in our wedding was an obvious choice and one that people seemed to really enjoy." I hope you enjoy it too!

~Ghostpatrol~

Ghostpatrol is an extremely talented artist based out of Melbourne, Australia. He works in many mediums including ink drawing, murals, graffiti, soft sculpture and watercolors. It's his unique and distinctive paintings on carved pencil sets inspired by his childhood nostalgia and 80’s cartoons what I adore the most. His solo show will be held from March 18th to April 17th at Hugo Michell Gallery, which definitely not to be missed if you are in Australia.

{Serge Leblon's Photography}

These are a couple of years old images from a photo shoot by Serge Leblon for the promotion of an English singer Alison Goldfrapp's new music album Seventh Tree. I couldn't stop admiring the mystical and whimsical feel of the images and had to share these with you. Hope you enjoy them!

Night Scene Skirt

I am loving this skirt with a wide waist band, and the night scene featuring motif of an owl, tree and moon. I like the model's choices of the scarf for belt and the high neckline blouse.

Washi

I was recently reading about paper art (currently fascinated by it) and came across the term Washi. I searched a little more and found out - Washi comes from wa meaning Japanese and shi meaning paper. This paper is commonly used in origami and other paper crafts, and jewelry making like this owl bangle.
