Anthropologie: Cookie Jars

Isn't it so hard to find vintage owl cookie jar? I haven't been able to find any so far. I was so excited to know when Charo Figueroa wrote to me about these new darling cookie jars by Anthropologie. These cute jars will make a lovely and practical addition to your kitchen!

O for Owl

This vintage inspired print is from London based illustrator, Paul Thurlby. I'm loving the retro imagery and bold colors. I'd love to cover my wall with his entire alphabet collection like this!

Vogue April 2010

New Vogue España 2010 edition with the model Keke Lindgard and photography by Arthur Elgort takes fashion world by storm.You can see more jaw-dropping photographs from the edition here. The above shown photo is my favorite because of the owl (duh), the bold color and the texture of the dress, lace scarf, the large pieces of jewelry on the model and a dash of bohemian flair that makes this the perfect recipe for style!

{Two Hoots}

Ryan Fowler of Native Vermont is an illustrator and currently the chair of the performing arts and a visual arts department at a boarding school in North Chicago. While on a break in Vermont, Ryan spends time walking at the lake and hiking in the woods.Ryan's work was recently featured on Etsy and his interview can be read here. I love the use of muted colors and the vintage feel of his pieces like the one shown above.

{Ollie: Ring Bearer}

Mike Roberts is the falconer at Great Hall of Peckforton Castle in Cheshire who has trained Ollie the barn owl to deliver the rings to the best man the moment the registrar asks for the rings. The owl has been taught to respond to Roberts' whistle and fly down from minister's gallery to the best man who will be wearing a falconry glove. The best man then will be able to remove the velvet pouch containing rings from the owl's leg. If you are interested in inviting Ollie to your wedding, contact Roberts here for a training session. They have trained eagles too.
