I shall wrap up for this week with these cheerful images from children's illustration book "I Can Fly" by Ruth Krauss, introduced to me by my sister. When I searched for this book online, I found out that it was first published in 1951 and is still one of the most popular book among kids and the parents. Did you read this book when you were a kid? How did I miss it? I guess, I can blame it on growing up in a different country and limited exposure to the western world when I was little. But, now I know and I might just buy a copy to read it to my niece.
The illustrations by Mary Blair decorate each page of the book with gorgeous and vibrant images will truly be a treat for the eyes. At $3.99 this book will make a great Christmas gift for the little readers in your family. You can order you copy here.
Love the illustrations - mary Blair was the best. I want to buy this book for myself ;)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I had that when I was little!! I had totally forgotten about it. I hope my Mum still has it (very likely thankfully).
ReplyDeleteI absolutely ADORE this book. So glad you chose to post about it. The art is transcendent, isn't it? And those owls... the cutest!
ReplyDeleteMy grand-daughter would love that. She's just turned two.
