Martha Stewart: Owl Cookies

Last week, Martha Stewart's Valentine's Day Ideas show had a little segment on how to bake and decorate owl valentine cookies with Dani Fiore. To make these "Lovebird" cookies look delicious and beautiful, Martha says "it's the icing that takes the cake" so, the following video image link to Martha.com will show you how to get it right. Once you have the icing ready, the video shows Dani explaining how to decorate the cookie with it.

Chasing The Crayon

Tracey Long is an artist and freelance illustrator based in London. She is the heart and soul behind Chasing The Crayon on Etsy. I have been a great fan of her whimsical illustrations, fantastic color choice and subject matter. These are some of her owls and other quirky characters from her collection. Owl Paper Mask

This gorgeous paper owl mask by Carleen Cantu is made using over 250 small paper shapes that are hand-punched from various card stock. Each mask takes several hours to plan and complete which requires patience, hard work and talent.

Studio Fludd's Mural

Studio Fludd is a team of very talented young italian designers and illustrators. They did an awesome job of hand-painting Little Mateo's nursery walls with a whimsical scenery in refreshing colors. The scene features an owl perched on the tree along with the other animals and birds. Check out the creative way of incorporating the wall outlets and other wall metal panels into the artwork. We use tea-cozy to keep tea pot warm but what do we do to keep our cup of cocoa warm? Well, we use cup cozy. It's a great idea for those who like to enjoy slowly sipping their cup of coffee on a lovely winter morning. Theodora Demetriades

Theodora Demetriades is an artist based in New Jersey. She started painting with her mother when she was only four years old and later attented Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. Her main medium of choice is watercolor however, once in a while she is tempted to work in other mediums. For last two years she has been doing miniatures ACEO'S which are 2 1/2" x 3 1/2 ". DIY: Feathery Owl Balls

Katja made these fluffy and feathery owl balls and shared the step by step instructions with  images on her blog. These are so fun and easy to make and you don't need whole lot of material. Just
1. Styrofoam ball(s)
2. felt
3. plastic eyes
4. scissors
5. glue
and you are done! I am tempted to try myself, I have a feeling that it will be hard to just make one. I mean look at that nerdy owl with glasses. So cute!
