Owl Birthday Party

Jenny of Jenny Cookies designed this fabulous owl party for her daughter who recently turned 5. The initial choice for the party was between Cinderella and owls, as her daughter loves them both, but at the end, owls won! For this party Jenny got the inspiration from Pottery Barn Kids bedding with green gingham, pink polka dots, brown polka dots, floral patterns and owls.

I love every detail of the party! The adorable owl cake pops and owl cupcakes on wooden cake stand on the round table is a great idea. The arrangement of the dessert table looks exceptional with the hanging ruffled paper centerpieces and cupcake liner garland. Check out more photos of the party here.

DIY: Tote Bags

I found this fun craft idea for making cute animal themed tote bags at Country Living. The tutorial comes with templates of  three woodland animals - squirrel, deer and owl for you to choose from. The instructions are clear and simple to even try it out with kids. Learn how to make this tote here.

Hand Painted Cookies Inspired By Children's Books

Natasha, whose gingerbread houses I have featured before here, crafted these gorgeous hand-painted children's book characters for her kids' school honoring World Book Day. She made three different owls inspired by the following children's books:

1. Owl Babies by Martin Wadell and Patrick Benson
2. ZZZZ A Book of Sleep by Il Sung Na
3. Little Stories for Bedtime, Usborne Books

In the second picture, I had to look twice to spot the cookies. The characters look part of the books. I love the incredible feather detailing of "Owl babies".

I stumbled across Kala Noel's blog and was thrilled to see her owl collection. As I read more about her, I discovered that she is a huge owl lover.
