I shall wrap up for this week with these cheerful images from children's illustration book "I Can Fly" by Ruth Krauss, introduced to me by my sister. When I searched for this book online, I found out that it was first published in 1951 and is still one of the most popular book among kids and the parents. Did you read this book when you were a kid? How did I miss it? I guess, I can blame it on growing up in a different country and limited exposure to the western world when I was little. But, now I know and I might just buy a copy to read it to my niece. 

The illustrations by Mary Blair decorate each page of the book with gorgeous and vibrant images will truly be a treat for the eyes. At $3.99 this book will make a great Christmas gift for the little readers in your family. You can order you copy here.

Sienna Orlando is a California based trained sculptor and ceramist for 10 years. She says: "making buttons came about rather unexpectedly after making sculpture for the last few years." 

I love her cute and unique buttons that are hand-sculpted from ceramic. You can buy her buttons in several fun designs including bird, rainbow, hearts, toast, fried eggs and barn owl. Most buttons are available individual or in a set of two. But, if you like savings then stop by her store for variety packs which are a great deal for your sewing or craft project.

¡Feliz Día de los Muertos! It's a big day of the celebration in South neighboring states of the border when people get together to honor the memory of the loved ones who have left this world. Right now, I am missing being in Tucson where this day is celebrated, for a few years now on a very large scale, with beautiful costumes, parades, shrines, Latin music and food.
