Daniel Mackie: Great Grey Owl

Great Grey Owl painting in watercolors by Daniel Mackie. When I first saw this painting my very inital thought was how did he do it. I am so glad that while browsing through Daniel's blog I stumbled across this post on step by step progress on the painting starting from the sketch to the finished work. I love the owl's captivating eyes and the lovely detail of trees and colorful patterns for the owls' wings and the body.
