Mibo Children Books

{images via}

UK based design studio Mibo of designer and illustrator Madeleine Rogers has just recently released a new series of children's book that consists of three adorable books filled with charming illustrations of animals such as snowy owl, walrus, polar bear etc. Each book covers five animals that are explored through rhyme, pictures and pull-out 2D figures that can be easily constructed into 3D. With two spreads dedicated to each animal, adults will be able to read the short playful rhyme on each spread to children and look at the bright illustrations to teach them about the animal and its environment.

The paper animals can be pulled out from the perforated pages contained in back of the book and turned into 3D figures by just a simple folds and a few dabs of glue. The book will help kids to develop motor skills and encourage them to create imaginative world of their own. The Jungle Crew, The Polar Pack and The Safari Set  are fun and educational books that every child will love to have! Available online here.

Halloween Owl Cookies

Hayley of The Domestic Rebel loves to bake and is an owl lover. She combined two of her passions to create these Owl Cookies for Halloween. She says on her blog: "The idea isn’t new; in fact, many have made these cuties into cupcakes, which I love! But I wanted to switch it up a bit by turning these cutie little hoots into cookies." I think it's a genius idea because as we get closer to the ultimate trick-or-treating night, we find ourselves neck deep down in so many other things that preparing dessert is moved to the back burner.

With this quick recipe, you can create a homemade Halloween treat without spending too much time (or freaking out!). Hayley has shared the recipe of making the cookies and instructions on decorating them on her blog. While you are on her blog, check out her other adorable recipes such as "pumpkin whoopie pies", "mummy bites" etc.

How to Make Owl Pumpkin with Sharpie

There are many other ways to decorate pumpkins without carving. Last week, I shared some of the creative and fun ideas with which you could decorate a Halloween pumpkin which requires no carving at all! I came across yet another inspirational tutorial by Ashley that teaches how to decorate a pumpkin using a sharpie pen. I think is a pretty simple and unique idea especially if you haven't gotten around to decorating your pumpkins yet!
