Volpine Quirky Illustrated Scarves

These quirky illustrated and luxurious scarves are by Volpine a brand based in London. The scarves are in silk and illustrated by hand by Maria Sole Cortese who is also the founder of Volpine.

"Her unique style of illustration is inspired by a love of the slightly macabre, quirky and otherworldly coupled with a passion for victorian encaustic pattern."

The collection features four striking designs on an encaustic Victorian tile pattern printed with the brightest inks, enhancing the details of the illustration. Choose from owl, narwhal, sea horse and beetle from their online store here.

The hand torn edges of paper give a raw yet elegant feel to the sculptures.

Ittala's New Products From Taika Series

Taika 'Magic' in Finnish is an enchanting series from Ittala designed by London based illustrator Klaus Haapaniemi. In the past, I have featured several pieces from the whimsical Taika collection including dinnerware, glassware and cushions.

The popular demand had made the collection grow adding tin metal storage boxes, tea towels and paper napkins. The tin boxes are my favorite of them all. They are perfect to be used in kitchen to store coffee, sugar, tea or to hold pens on your desk. The tin containers come in round and rectangular shapes. Klaus Haapaniemi's forest theme showcasing owl and peacock illustrations adorn the products from the range in bold red and blue. Available here.
