Inspiring Collages by Diego Naguel

Diego Naguel also known as Die Díe is a mixed media artist based in Argentina who creates amazing collages on old journal pages, bills, scraps of shopping lists and torn paper from magazines. These pieces of paper are adorned with beautiful sketches and watercolor drawings of animals such as owls, foxes, bears and more. What makes his work so intriguing is the layers of materials in his artwork that often has washi tape, embroidery stitches and fabric.

I'll wrap up for the weekend with his inspiring artwork. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Have a great weekend. I'll see you back on Monday.

The Owl & The Fox: Prewedding Photoraphy

This pre-wedding photo shoot is a great idea for someone who is about to get married. Bob and Gen decided to capture their most beautiful memories by pretending to be woodland creatures. The couple role played as an owl and a fox for their pre-wedding ceremony in a rustic outdoor. The masks seem to be handmade with paper have clean, crisp edges. The location is a perfect pick for the woodland theme in which the bride and the groom are happily dancing around as woodland creatures. Details such as teepee, lanterns, dry branches and other vintage objects add charm to the whole thing.

Ceramics by Laurie Shaman

Chicago based ceramic artist Laurie Shaman uses slab-built techniques to make beautiful ceramic pieces. She was a studio potter in the town of Mineral Point and for a number of years, she served as the Program Coordinator of the Art in Public Places program, as well as the Visual Arts Coordinator for the Wisconsin Arts Board in Madison. She is a part of Chicago’s Lill Street Art Center and curated many exhibitions involving local and national ceramic artists.

Her ceramics are inspired by figures, nature, townscapes and animals. I love the organic shape in her work which makes each ceramic one-of-a-kind. The ceramics are decorated with hand-drawn portraits, animals and scenes. The vases, wall pieces, tiles, trivets, teapots and urns are painted with stains and glazes that are non-toxic.

She has worked on a six-panel ceramic mural installation "In the Swim," commissioned by the Public Art Program, City of Chicago. It is now on view at the Hayes Park Natatorium located at 2936 W. 85th Street in the Ashburn-Wrightwood community. To see her work in person you can keep an eye on her website for any updates on the future exhibitions and events.
