3 Dimensional Artwork by Laura Bell

Atlanta based artist Laura Bell works in mixed media, inspired by nature her work often consists of drawings on paper and cut paper, vintage elements, found objects, watercolor, and ink. The artist gained her MFA from the Tyler School at Temple University and her BA with a specialization in Art and Art History from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.

The series "Run Rampant" explores "the relationships between human and animal, between wilderness and artifice, and between order and the unruly. The work considers the various lenses through which we view the fauna and flora that surround us." Her artwork features animals in the foreground in pen marks on hand-cut paper layered with watercolored landscapes in the background giving the whole piece a three dimensional quality. The vintage oval frame and glass bell jar houses the work.

She is represented by Whitespace Gallery. She has participated in group exhibitions such as Emerging Artists at Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences, Intersections of Gender and Place at the Mississippi University for Women, MOCA Gala at MOCA, Solar Heresies at Mammal Gallery, Second Nature with Barbara Archer Gallery/Goat Farm, and solo exhibitions Gurgle and Seep at Whitespace Gallery and Delicate Intricacies at Blackbridge Hall Gallery at Georgia College and State University in 2013.
