Susan Horth is an artist based in Cockpit Arts in London amongst a community of artisans. She is a wildlife passionate and makes amazing beaded sculptures depicting insects, flowers, birds and other creatures that look amazingly real. To construct her sculptures she uses wire, glazed paper, metal foils, beads, pearls, antique adornments and semi precious stones. Her pieces have layers of textures and detailed stitching.
"Every sculpture she creates is completely bespoke and ‘alive’ with its own distinct personality. Owls peer languidly through heavy lidded eyes, embellished bees are poised mid-flight, lizards flit, a bejewelled grasshopper is bright in brilliant green."
She won the prestigious Gold Award at Goldsmiths’ Craftsmanship and Design Council Awards in the Gallery Fashion Jewellery category and was ‘Commended’ by Goldsmiths. Her work is available through boutique galleries and stores such as Liberty London, Bergdorf Goodman and The Harley Gallery Shop.
