Chris Ayer is a Los Angeles based character designer in the Hollywood film industry who has worked with DreamWorks, Disney TV and Sony Pictures Animation. When Chris was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005, he took upon himself the project "The Daily Zoo" and began to draw an animal every day as part of the healing process.
After more than a decade, the sketches from "The Daily Zoo" are collected to publish into three volumes from Design Studio Press. The pages are filled with colorful characters from owl to zebra, from pandas to hyenas. The images are accompanied by a commentary by the artist about his cancer experience "the sources of my artistic inspiration, and some of my creative methods. Regardless of your artistic experience, I hope this book will inspire you to get creative and feed your soul!"

I have either the first or the second Daily Zoo book. It's delightful, and his writing on battling cancer made me cry. I would encourage anyone to buy it.
Hey! Thank you for leaving your feedback. His work is truly an inspiration for all of us. Have a good day :)
