Japan based paper cutting artist and an illustrator Yuya creates folk-art inspired designs. His work appears on book covers, CD sleeves, postcards, packaging and tea towels. He studied architecture at Musashino Art University and started his career in 2007. He finds inspiration for his work in 50's and 60's art, folk crafts he gathered on his travels around the world, Scandinavian design, used books, Brazilian music and old coffee shops. He lives with his wife Keiko Sparrow where they work together for Atelier Folk a place where good art meets good food. I absolutely enjoyed the time I spent on Yuya's website looking through more of his work, I hope you do too!
