Jennifer McBrien is a Baltimore based artist who creates these beautiful bird portraits by free hand stitching on a sewing machine. All the birds are based on her original designs and patterns. The series of bird portraits are stitched in black on heavy duty cotton canvas fabric with dark thread which makes every stitch amplify. You can clearly see the overlap of the thread that brings wonderful texture to her work. The birds look like drawings that are made with a pencil.
"On numerous days, I walk to my studio in Baltimore, MD through a treasured wooded pathway, listening to the bird stories and surrounding urban sounds. These sweet sounds and thoughts are the inspirations for my daily creations..."
She will be exhibiting her work in the upcoming events on 26th August and 9th September among other shows in other major cities in the US. You can find more information on the events on her website.
