Award winning artist and illustrator Martin Haake has been working as a freelance illustrator for over 14 years. Based out of Germany, Martin’s has worked on several art projects all over the globe. He creates detailed illustrations of landscapes, animals and maps using found paper that gives his work rich texture. My favorite part about his work is the color palette and the collage component. His work is inspired by surrealists and DADA artists of the last century, as well as 50s children’s book illustrations.
He has received numerous international awards for his work including the Yellow Pencil from the British Art Director’s Club D&AD and two silver awards from the German Art Director’s Club. He has worked with clients such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Barnes & Noble, The Royal Society of Arts, Penguin Books, The Boston Globe, Travel & Leisure, Elle and the Shangri-la Hotel, Hong Kong.
