Doodle a Day: Flora Chang

Flora Chang of Happy Doodle Land gave herelf a challenge of creating a doodle each day for which she draws something that's "quick and messy ... nothing fancy". Most of the doodles are drawn in less than 15 minutes. She usually used acrylic gouache, watercolor, and ink in rich, beautiful colors. It takes quite a dedication and discipline to chalk out a schedule in a way where you have to produce a piece every single day. She has drawn all kinds of things such as owls, birds, roosters, human portraits, flowers and more in her signature folk art inspired style. If you want to see more pages from her sketchbook then go to her Instagram.

Realistic Needle Felted Sculptures by Erin Gardner

Erin Gardner is the designer and maker behind all the amazing sculptures at Grey Fox Felting. New York based fiber artist has been making soft sculptures for several years. It was in 2010 when Erin decided to focus on the art of needle felting when she across a craft shop that had a section with needle felting creations. I think it was love at first sight!

Ever since she has been bringing joy with her creations often inspired by nature and animals. Her 3d sculptures have gotten realistic over the years that sometimes come perched on a wooden base. I love the little embroidery that she does to decorate her pieces. To see her work in the past and to get update on her upcoming work you can join her on Instagram. Textile Dolls Inspired By Fairy Tales by Pantovola

Good morning friends, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I would like to start this week with the amazing work of Anouk de Groot a textile artist from Scotland. I first discovered her work a few years ago and loved it so much that I shared it here. Thanks to websites like Pinterest where I once again, after all this time, came across her textile dolls that are inspired by fairy tales and folk art. Owls are a recurring theme in her work along with the mystical creatures that are constructed using vintage fabric, embroidery and beads. Each doll is one-of-a-kind piece which is hand-painted by the artist with love and care. You take a trip to a magical world for a while by visiting her store - Pantovola.
