It's almost impossible to believe these surreal paintings of animals is a work of someone who started drawing animals for pocket money to get by high school. After Carla Grace earned Diploma in Fine Art from Whitecliffe College, New Zealand she moved to Australia where started her career as a full-time artist in 2015.
It's evident by looking at her work how much she loves the challenge of painting animal and bird portraits realistically. They appear almost real that you would want to reach out and touch the fur and feathers on the canvas.
"I don’t just want to create art that looks good in a home, but art that has a presence in a room, that embodies the subject in a way that allows you to experience the artwork as an interactive meeting."
She has won several awards and exhibited in group as well as solo shows. To get a closer look at her work you can join her on Instagram.
