Diana Beltran Herrera was born in Colombia and graduated with a BA degree in industrial Design at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, Bogota in 2010. After graduating she decided to experiment with different materials that are easily present around us in our everyday lives. She creates amazing sculptures of birds, insects, fish and plants with materials as wire, cardboard, plastic, and paper.
"Her sculptures portray the ideal state of a thing and also act like a model of representation of a reality that doesn't suffer any change."
She has worked on commissions for the Festival of ideas - Bristol City Council, In Good Company - Singapore, Domestika, bird series for UK postage stamp and LCX mall in Hong Kong. Also, she designed the cover for the book "Queenie Malone's Paradise Hotel" written by English author Ruth Hogan and the Owl for Onward Magazine, 30 POINT Agency.
She now lives in Bristol and is represented by JSR Agency, London. You can see more of her work I blogged previously here.
