Mark Hearld is a printmaker and a ceramic artist born in 1974. Ever since he was a little boy he loved animals and nature. His work is heavily influenced by flora and fauna of the British countryside. Now the multi-media artist creates oil and watercolors, collages, textiles, 3D pieces, hand-painted ceramics, posters, book covers, limited edition lithographs and linocuts. I have featured his wonderful work on the blog before. This post is dedicated to his stunning slipcast and hand-painted platters inspired by birds and animals.
He has worked in collaboration with Faber & Faber and Tate Museums. His collages were published by Walker Books for a children's book. St Jude's, an online art gallery made an introductory film on Mark's inspirations and working methods.
