German artist Jürgen Lingl-Rebetez carves animal sculptures using the most unexpected tool. Lingl-Rebetez was interested in art from early on in his life, he started his career as a painter and showed his art at a gallery when he was only 20 years of age. In 1996, he moved to Switzerland and started to sculpt using a chainsaw.
He uses chainsaw to create amazing sculptures of owls, jaguars, rabbits, and horses. The artist begins with a block of wood and carves the forms of animals that look so real. The sculptures are finished with incredible detail work that are added with a knife and colored pencils. His animal sculptures have unique rustic style and friendly personalities.
You can find his creations and get glimpses at what happens behind the scenes on facebook.
